We all love our chocolates. Sweet, yummy, comfort food that can lift your mood any day. However from our childhood days we have been told to limit our chocolate intake, which is good advice. Consuming chocolates is fine as long as it is within limits and they do have great health benefits! No before you get too excited, just note that chocolate here refers to the 'real' kind. This is basically one that contains 70% or more cocoa and is known as dark chocolate.

Dark chocolates are good for your teeth. The antibacterial properties prevent formation of caries, the fluorine strengthens teeth and stops decay. Higher the percentage of cocoa then stronger the health benefits. Chocolate with 99% cocoa can fight off bacteria.
They love our hearts. Dark chocolates have antioxidants and also something called polyphenols. These good guys protect our hearts while other substances in the chocolate protect blood vessels. Cocoa also has good fat which has positive effects on blood cholesterol.

As mentioned before dark chocolate has antioxidants and it also has plenty of vitamins including A, B, C, D and E. Vitamin E slows down cell aging, combined with the effect of antioxidants this gives you younger looking skin for longer.
